Obey Randy Newman: I love LA
I got a fever, and the only perscription is a trip to Los Angeles. Will be there from July 19th - 27th. Please if you are in the neighborhood, do stop by and take me somewhere.
I am fully prepared for the journey after watching the John Carpenter classic They Live which takes place in 1980's downtown LA, with awesome Echo Park shanty town footage, shoulder pad footage and bluesy synth score. Starring the hardest working mullet in wrestling, Mr. Roddy Piper. Truly a man for all seasons.
After viewing that gem, I proceded to compare the famous Piper vs. Keith David sunglasses fight with the Jimmy and Timmy "Cripple Fight" from the infamous South Park episode of the same name. Yes, the two fight scenes are nearly identical. God bless you Matt and Trey.
Upcoming posts to look out for: a review of the hit comedy Land of the Dead, a short photo essay entitled "Meet Neville Desmond Sinclair", some deep thoughts on where Dov Charney can shove his American Apparel ads, and a delightful recipe for banana nut bread. Mmmmm, tasty!
